Getting down with thousands of other fans was such a blast at Creation Festival. It was a last minute decision to make my good friends dream come true. She has wanted to see David Crowder in concert for 5 years and Thursday night we decided we would go for it. We threw a group together and found a house to host us Satuday night and just went for it.
Saturday Morning we left early in the morning and made it to Selah in time for lunch and a dip in the pool and a bit of sun. We had some awesome food including some authentic Korean from our host and then headed off to the concert.
The view as you enter the Ampitheatre is spectacular. The beautiful clear day made it perfect. We had a great spot on the grassy hillside where we could hear the music but couldn't feel the thump. So for our favorites we decided to go down to the stage and hear for them up close. We went a bit early while there was a speaker before our two favorite bands and we really had no idea how crazy it would get down there.
The speaker was an awesome funny guy who brought a tear or two. After he was done was when David Crowder came we were suddenly surrounded with thousands of people who also had our idea. We were up about 15 to 20 feet from the stage so there was no going back with thousands behind us.
I honestly didn't know all the David Crowder songs but I grew to love his music more. He put on a very creative show, however I was touched most by one of my favorite Newsboys. The sweet heart of God in Peter Furler was so evident in his sharing on stage. His passion for the message behind the music blessed me and brought tears to my eyes. With that same passion was an awesome fun time where he had us jumping and singing along to all of my favorite Newsboys songs.
They started out with my favorite latest "Something Beautiful" and then of course Shine, Stay Strong, Breakfast and more. I hadn't seen them in concert in several years since high school in California. It was awesome how they did a little retro round table gig about where they came from and how far they had come. They started in a van until their first big hit "Not ashamed" and it grew from there. For me it was even sweeter to have ending with one of my favorite worship songs "I am free". It was an awesome time of fellowship and great music. It was awesome to see a friends dream come true and be blessed in the messages of the music too.

Song in my head: Something Beautiful - Newsboys
Verse: Psalm 29: 1 Ascribe to the LORD, O mighty, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. 2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness. 3 The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters. 4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic
