With a heartbeat, there is life. When a person is silent, there are two things you can still hear - their breathing and their heartbeat. There are a couple of verses in Ezekiel about the heart "I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 11:19
Ezekiel 36:26 -
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
